Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Eberhard Manske holds a professorship “Production and Precision Measurement Technology” at the Technische Universität Ilnmenau since 2008. After his studies of electrical engineering in 1982, he obtained the doctoral degree in 1986, and in 2006 the postdoctoral lecturing qualification. His research activities are in the fields of the development of Nanopositioning and Nanomeasuring Machines. He was 2008-2013 spokesman of the collaborative research centre “Nanopositioning and Nanomeasuring Machines (SFB 622)” and since 2017 he leads the research training group “Tip- and laser-based 3D-Nanofabrication in extended macroscopic working areas (NanoFab)” both funded by the German Reseach Council. His research work is mainly focused in high precision laser interferometry, laser stabilization, frequency comb technology, optical and tactile nano sensors and scanning probe techniques. Newly research work is carried out in direction of tip and laser based nanofabrication.
