Said M. Easa received the Ph.D. degree in transportation engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA, in 1982. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Civil Engineering, Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto, ON, Canada. He is a fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE). He was a member of the Board of Directors and the Vice President of the CSCE.

Prof. Sanjay Ranka is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Information Science and Engineering at University of Florida. From 1999-2002, as the Chief Technology Officer at Paramark (Sunnyvale, CA), he developed a real-time optimization service called PILOT for marketing campaigns. PILOT served more than 10 million optimized decisions a day in 2002 with a 99.99% uptime. Paramark was recognized by VentureWire/Technologic Partners as a Top 100 Internet technology company in 2001 and 2002 and was acquired in 2002. The focus of his current research is the development of efficient computational methods and data analysis techniques to model scientific phenomenon, and practical applications of focus are improvements to the quality of healthcare and the reduction of traffic accidents.

Guang-Ren Duan received his Ph.D. degree in Control Systems Sciences from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, P. R. China, in 1989. After a two-year post-doctoral experience at the same university, he became professor of control systems theory at that university in 1991. From December 1996 to October 2002, he visited the University of Hull, the University of Sheffield, and also the Queen's University of Belfast, UK. He is the founder and presently the Honorary Director of the Center for Control Theory and Guidance Technology at Harbin Institute of Technology. Recently, he has also established the Center for Control Science and Technology at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and is serving as the dean for the School of Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing at SUSTech.

President Shan concurrently serves as the deputy director of the National Industrial Foundation Expert Committee/head of the Basic Technology and Equipment Group, deputy director of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Expert Committee/convener of the Strategy and Policy Consulting Group, deputy leader of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Standardization Expert Advisory Group, and China Machinery Manufacturing Technology Association Chairman, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics, Deputy Director of the Expert Advisory Committee of the National Smart Civil Aviation Construction Leading Group/Director of the Science, Education and Supervision Subcommittee, etc. Mainly engaged in the research of digital mechanical equipment and advanced forming manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing technology and equipment, green intelligent manufacturing technology and equipment, etc.

Mohamed Benbouzid received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Batna, Batna, Algeria, in 1990, the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, Grenoble, France, in 1991 and 1994, respectively, and the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches degree from the University of Picardie “Jules Verne,” Amiens, France, in 2000.

Prof. Benbouzid is an IEEE Fellow and a Fellow of the IET. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal on Energy Conversion and the Applied Sciences (MDPI) Section on Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. He is a Subject Editor for the IET Renewable Power Generation.

John D. Graham earned his Ph.D. in public affairs at Carnegie-Mellon University(Pittsburgh, PA, USA)where his dissertation addressed risks and benefits of automobile airbag technology. He became a tenured professor at the Harvard School of Public Health where he was the founding director of the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis (1990-2000). From 2001 to 2006 Professor Graham served as Administrator of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the US Office of Management and Budget during the George W. Bush administration. In this capacity he oversaw all federal regulatory policies, including those covering the energy and automotive industries. More recently Professor Graham served as an administrator and professor at Indiana University where he teaches the tools of risk analysis, policy analysis and benefit-cost analysis. He is the author of 15 books and over 200 scientific articles. His most recent book is entitled The Global Rise of the Modern Plug-In Electric Vehicle: Public Policy, Innovation, and Strategy.
